Chapter 596: Chapter 596 Can You Please Spare Me_1
“Last warning! Raise your hands–don’t resist foolishly!”
The voice outside was loud, the lights bright.
Dazzling to the point where they couldn’t open their eyes.
Elwood Thorneycroft spoke in a deep voice, “Put down the weapons…”
The remaining four men looked at each other, then bent down and placed their knives on the ground.
A few seconds later, the cold handcuffs clicked around their wrists.
“We received a call claiming you’ve been murdering people! Please come back with us to assist the investigation!”
Several officers escorted the five men and stuffed them into the police cars.
…
“Honey, I’m back!”
After Julius Reed unlocked the door, he found that everyone had already finished dinner.
Anna Harris was sitting on the couch watching TV, while Quella Radcliffe seemed to have gone somewhere.
“Where’s Cosmo?”
Feeling a sudden tightness in his chest, Julius Reed called out.
“Master, I’m here.”
Cosmo poked her head down from upstairs and asked, “What’s wrong?”
She was now Quella Radcliffe’s personal bodyguard, never leaving her side.
“Your master’s wife was going to throw out the trash, she didn’t allow me to go with her.”
“How long has your master’s wife been gone?”
Julius Reed always felt that something was off.
He had just come up from downstairs; how had he not seen Quella Radcliffe?
And the normally present disciples at the entrance of Willson Pavilion, why were they missing?
“She just went down; what is it, Master?”
Cosmo obviously didn’t realize Quella Radcliffe might be in danger.
“You stay at home. If Quella Radcliffe comes back, call me immediately!”
Julius Reed firmly instructed before shutting the door and hastily running downstairs.
When he arrived at the location of the trash bins, he found the two Willson Pavilion disciples who were supposed to be guarding the mansion’s entrance lying inside!
“Not good!”
His heart tightened, and he placed his hand on the Willson Pavilion disciple’s neck, feeling a pulse.
They were clearly knocked out by someone.
“The Leocadia Family!”
Julius Reed’s brow furrowed slightly, suspecting he knew the cause.
Karen was skilled with poison, it was undoubtedly her work to incapacitate the Willson Pavilion disciples without a trace.
Just then, his phone rang.
The incoming call was from Quella Radcliffe.
“Hello, Julius Reed?”
“Do you want to die, or do you want to live?”
Julius Reed demanded coldly, his voice laden with murderous intent.
“No! Don’t misunderstand! There’s room for negotiation, your wife is right here with me, nothing’s happened to her! Listen if you don’t believe me!”
Just as the voice on the phone finished, they could hear Quella Radcliffe speaking, “Honey, I’m fine, the ones who kidnapped me are a young man and an old man. They’re quite courteous, but they’re definitely no good.”
“Hey! Girl, I haven’t even tied you up. I just pushed you a bit hard getting you into the car. I’ve been treating you like royalty; how can you call me a bad person?”
Karen complained with a sense of grievance on the phone.
“So, what do you want?”
Julius Reed asked icily.
Now that he heard Quella Radcliffe was safe, he could breathe a sigh of relief.
At least it wasn’t Fabian Percival’s people.
“I’m just outside in the car, didn’t even drive away to show my sincerity. Let’s be clear, I want to talk directly, I’m sincere!”
After Karen finished speaking, she honked the car horn.
At the entrance of the community.
A Jetta car.
“Hey!”
Upon seeing Julius Reed approach, Karen rolled down the passenger side window and waved at him.
Thump!
Julius Reed ran over and kicked fiercely at the car door!
Boom!
With a loud bang, the Jetta’s door was kicked so hard it caved in.
“Hey there, what’s with all the murderous intent!”
Karen cowered inside the car, her voice full of grievance, “I didn’t do anything, your wife is right here, perfectly safe!”
She gestured behind her.
Quella Radcliffe sat in the back seat, utterly free.
But the car was locked, and it couldn’t be opened from the inside.
“Boom!”
Julius Reed punched the window to shatters and then tore the car door off.
“Wife, are you alright?”
Seeing that Quella Radcliffe was unharmed, his tense heart finally relaxed.
“I’m fine! Hubby, be careful, this guy is tough!”
Quella Radcliffe quickly scrambled out and flung herself into Julius Reed’s arms.
“Hey! We mean no harm, as you can see. Can we talk?”
Karen pushed the dented door open, stepped out of the car with a smile, and said, “So, is that food in your hand?”
Whoosh!
Julius Reed, keeping a straight face, threw the bag of crabs and lobsters at her.
At the same time, he gently embraced Quella Radcliffe, feeling her pulse.
“It’s okay! I wouldn’t do anything despicable.”
Karen caught the bag and called out to someone not far away, “Terry Moore, you damn dog, if you don’t come now, I’ll eat it all by myself!”
“I’m coming!”
Terry Moore sprinted from around the corner of the compound with the speed of a hundred-meter racer, grabbed the lobster, and ate it shell and all.
“Damn it! Haven’t eaten all day! Almost starved to death!”
As Karen wolfed down the food, she teased, “Terry Moore said he couldn’t beat you, feared getting beaten up by you, and hid away, not daring to come out. I told him you must be a reasonable man, and look, you even gave us something to eat.”
Ever since being pursued by Julius Reed, wherever they went, they found people lying in wait for them.
With no money on them and their phones left in the hotel, the two of them had lain on a haystack for an entire day.
In the end, it was Karen who came up with the idea to quietly steal a car, drive to the compound where Julius Reed lived, and wait for Quella Radcliffe to come downstairs.
“How did you know where I live?”
Julius Reed eyed the two bedraggled individuals before him, his mood somewhat lightened.
He had just confirmed that Karen hadn’t poisoned Quella Radcliffe.
Otherwise, he would have killed without negotiation and then taken care of the poison.
“Big brother, you think too little of us,” Karen mumbled while munching on the food, “We are professionals after all, we had scoped out your situation well before coming here.”
After gobbling up his share, Karen slapped Terry Moore on the head, “Oaf, stop eating!”
He wiped his mouth with his sleeve and said with a smile, “Mr. Reed, please forgive my impudence. It was out of necessity; if we hadn’t done this, we might not have had anything to eat.”
“So hungry!”
Terry Moore, satisfied, rubbed his belly at the side.
Having not eaten for a day and a night, they were famished.
They didn’t even have a place to stay.
Life was just too hard.
“You’re quite clever,” Julius Reed sized up Karen with a snort, “But if you had dared to harm my wife, I would have killed you without hesitation.”
“Absolutely! Absolutely!”
Karen bent forward laughing, hands clasped in a fist bow towards Quella Radcliffe, “I apologize for the rudeness earlier, please don’t take it to heart!”
“Come on, bow with me!”
She kicked Terry Moore’s foot.
“Ah!”
Terry Moore followed suit, giving Quella Radcliffe a deep bow.

“Enough! Don’t act like you’re at a funeral. Out with it, what do you want?”
Julius Reed waved his hand, impatient.
At least they hadn’t done anything to harm Quella Radcliffe and had voluntarily returned her.
He was actually rather interested in this pair before him.
“I won’t lie, with your Divine Skills, it’s almost impossible for us to leave Gonzalez City,” Karen blinked her eyes, tentatively asking, “Could you, perhaps, let us off the hook?”
